A bucket is the part of the machine that actually meets the ground, so it decides how fast the work goes and how long the wear parts last. Sieruta builds excavator buckets in Ostrołęka, Poland, from Hardox and Strenx steel, and the range covers the jobs a contractor meets in one week: trenching in mixed soil, bulk digging in sand or gravel, cleaning and profiling a ditch, grading a slope before turf goes down, screening stone out of spoil, and lifting rock with a heavy-duty profile. Each family is drawn for a carrier weight band, so a bucket that fits a 3 t mini excavator is a different structure from one that fits a 30 t machine, not the same shape scaled up. How to choose

Start with the carrier weight
Every family lists the excavator weight band it is drawn for. A bucket built for a heavier machine puts load into a stick and a boom that were never sized for it, and one built for a lighter machine wears out early. Match the band first and the rest of the choice gets much shorter.

Pick the profile by the job, not by the name
Digging buckets penetrate and fill; grading and ditch-cleaning buckets have a wide, shallow profile and a straight edge for finishing; skeleton buckets let soil fall through and keep the stone; grab buckets hold material that a fixed bucket cannot. Two of them will usually cover a contractor's week.

Width follows the trench, not the machine
A narrow bucket digs a narrow trench faster and moves less spoil; a wide one finishes a surface in fewer passes. Where a pipe or a cable sets the trench width, that number picks the bucket. Widths run in steps inside each family, so read the model table rather than assuming a size exists.

Check the bracket before you order
The bucket has to meet the coupler already on the machine. Tell us the coupler make and size, or the pin dimensions for a direct fit, and we build the bracket to it. The quick-coupler pages list the systems we make, and the quote form has a field for the one you run.

Decide the wear package
Teeth, side cutters, wear bars and a bolt-on edge are chosen from the material you dig. Abrasive ground takes more wear steel and pays it back; clean soil rarely does. Say what you dig and we will say what we would fit.

- What steel are the buckets made from?
- Hardox and Strenx, with the wear areas in the harder grade and the structure in the higher-strength grade. The grade used in a given family is stated on that family's page.
- Can I get a bucket for a coupler I already own?
- Yes. We build the bracket for the coupler on your machine. Give us the coupler make and size in the quote form, or the pin centres and pin diameter for a direct fit.
- Do you build a size that is not in the catalogue?
- Yes, this is custom engineering rather than a catalogue order. Our design office draws it, and the offer states the price and the delivery date for that drawing.
- How long is the warranty?
- 12 months. The office in Ostrołęka answers technical questions and normally replies within 24–48 hours.
