The steel, and how we build with it
We build with SSAB wear and structural steels and weld to EN ISO 3834-2. The attachments last longer against wear and weigh less, so the machine has more capacity left for the load.
Hardox wear plate: protection against abrasion
We are a member of the Hardox In My Body programme. The areas that wear fastest are built from genuine SSAB steel, so the attachment goes longer between services, even in hard ground.
Hardox 400
The all-round grade for bucket shells and liners. It gives balanced protection against moderate wear.
Hardox 450
Our usual grade for cutting edges and side cutters. It is harder than Hardox 400, so it dents less and wears more slowly.
Hardox 500
For quarry and mining work, where sliding wear is what wears a part out.
Hardox HiTuf
For thick load-bearing wear parts that have to take hard impacts without cracking.
Strenx performance steel: strength with less weight
Strenx structural steel lets us build the attachments lighter. The machine carries less dead weight, so it uses less fuel and works faster.
Strenx 700
High-strength steel for load-bearing parts such as attachment bodies and brackets. Thinner plate carries the same load.
Strenx 900
For the most highly loaded joints. The higher strength saves a lot of weight there, above all on long-reach equipment.
Strenx 1100
The strongest of the three grades, for parts that must carry as much as possible for as little weight as possible.
Engineering and fabrication
FEM Analysis
We run every design through a Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis before the first plate is cut. It shows us how to spread the stresses and how long the part should last under repeated load.
EN ISO 3834-2 · EN 1090-1
The UDT-CERT EN ISO 3834-2 certificate covers comprehensive welding quality requirements. The EN 1090-1 factory-production-control certificate for structural steel components was issued by UDT-CERT, notified body 1433.
Material Traceability
Every plate is traceable to its heat, so we can show that the steel in your attachment has the properties the drawing asks for.

Sieruta Attachments is a licensed partner in SSAB's Hardox In My Body programme. The licence confirms that our Hardox wear parts are cut from genuine SSAB plate, and SSAB checks how we design and build with it.
